Jacky-M adds colour to Pattern Week

Our Reception area was always intended to reflect TCG Jumeira's focus on beautiful surroundings and art, and during Pattern Week it's even more colourful than usual, thanks to the amazing creations of local artisan Jacky-M

A well-known figure at ARTE Souk, Jacky-M's trademark is handmade jewellery which features Swarovski crystals.  You can see some of her work shimmering away in the display cabinet near the back door of our main school building.

All meticulously hand crafted, these necklaces, card-holders, worry beads and hair combs illustrate what great things can be made from patterns.

And it's not just jewellery that Jack-M turns her hand to...  She's given us more patterns in the form of four fabulous artworks, now adding their lustre to our Reception area, blowing the socks off visitors who aren't yet familiar with TCG's attitude to art in education!

The mix of media she uses to create her eye-catching masterpieces neatly illustrates why focusing on art is such a fantastic method of teaching; by encouraging the children to exercise their creativity to come up with different ways of achieving the effect they want, we simultaneously teach them to think laterally to achieve any end goal.

The children - AND their parents - are understandably in raptures with Jacky-M's work, and she'll be in TCG Jumeira from 12 noon on Thursday 4 February, so come along and meet her face-to-face!
